DIY Christmas Window

‘Tis the season to combat shoppers doing Christmas shopping.  Weaving around foot traffic is no fun and definitely not enjoyable being in the craziness of it all.  But looking at the store fronts give you that wonderful Christmassy feeling.  Hmmm you might even wanna make your own window display.  Well that’s just what I did.  Nothing ornate like those million dollar store front of course.  I wanted mine to be simple and inexpensive but enough to evoke the holiday spirit.  I looked around the house for things I already own like an extra Christmas light.  I outlined the window and created a draped look with it.  The trees are from the packaging, you know the white styrofoam sheet from your kid’s Christmas gift.  I didn’t want to toss it away and I’m glad I kept it and made wintertime trees out of them. The snow?  My husband joked me about it.  He said why don’t I just get the snow spray…um yes, I could, but I didn’t want to get another thing to buy.  Instead, I diluted a little bit of toothpaste in water.  And voila I have snow.

All the hustle and bustle can be daunting, but the store front of the shops are truly magnificent and can bring out the holiday spirit in you.  All it took me is to get inspired to make my own and this year’s window display cost me nothing.
