DIY Geometric Heart Wrapper

It’s almost Valentine’s Day, the season of love.

When I was single, I gotta admit I got pretty much jealous of couples going out on a date, girls receiving balloons, chocolate or bouquet of flowers. But I had to turn myself around and appreciate what I have-my eldest daughter. So every Valentine’s Day my daughter and I went out and celebrated the day of love.  It became a mommy and daughter day where we caught up with what was happening in our lives and simply showed appreciation for each other.

Now that I have my husband, it’s a little different, but I have not forgotten my tradition with my girl. We also have another addition to our family, so staying home and keeping it simple is key.  Besides, it’s not about the fancy restaurants where you beat the crowd and having a hefty bill in the end.  It’s about just spending quality time with your love ones.  I’m quite content just being around my family and I’m lucky that I have such a loving happy family. My life is truly complete with them.

So, in honor of St. Valentine’s, may the hopeful find love. May the love birds stay in love. May families grow their love for each other everyday. May everyone love and be loved.  To help you spread the love, I’ve created this geometric heart printable along with Valentine’s gift tag.

This was done in Illustrator. It’s on a standard size paper and the tags’ dimension is  2w x 3l. I just kept the design simple. The tags would be nice printed on a card stock and just punch the holes with a hole puncher.

I totally used aluminum foil for this project.  I used the the not so shiny side for it to not over power the geometric hearts.

And here it is finished with a black leather cord.  I hope this project will inspire gift giving on Valentine’s Day.

This is so cute, and I love the foil and clean white paper against the black of the graphic on the tag. The black cord is a nice touch too!
