Guys, oh my gosh. I cannot believe summer is over. All summer long, I longed for the weather to be sizzling hot. Summer never came here in my neck of the woods, in my opinion. I was wearing long sleeves or sweaters all the time. How crazy is that? There were times were I wore my jacket in the middle of July!
My summer was spent with family, which is the best part of the summer. We visited usual hangouts, mainly parks, around Bath and Stonehenge in which I got to check one of the items on my bucket list. I’m really happy with that one.
There was a funny thing that I experienced over the summer too-I got so addicted to blackberry picking. I was out picking them almost every day rain or shine. Those things grow everywhere here. They’re even in my backyard, but they weren’t as big as the ones in the neighborhood. My daughter and I made ice cream, jam and smoothies with it. I couldn’t believe I could just pick blackberries out there for free.
Towards the end of the summer, my cousin and his fam went to Poole, England to camp. Unfortunately, we couldn’t go and camp with them, because we have a baby. It would have been hard to manage the needs of our little one had we camped. So, we visited them instead.
Back to reality…my daughter will go back to school tomorrow. On her first day back, her class will go on a school trip for 3 days. It will be the first time she will be away from me without calling. I dunno how I feel about that, I’m a little sad that I won’t be able to call her. She’s truly growing up.
About my youngest daughter? She’s still not potty trained and she’s 20 months old. What’s frustrating about it is she knows how to do it. My husband said I shouldn’t pressure her. Maybe he’s right. Argh, I trained my first one at 18 months. I shouldn’t compare, I know, I know.
So, this school year I’m hoping that I will be more organized. After all, I’ve been getting five or six hours of sleep straight on most nights. The baby finally is sleeping in her own bed etc. I’m definitely feeling energized on occasion. To help me organize a bit, I created a “To Do List” stationary which I’ll be sharing with you. It’s a 3.5 x 7 stationary. It’s got flourishes as an art work, a clean look and I hope that this will help all of us.
Here’s a picture of it.
I wish you all a fun and safe school year! Take care always!
